1. Scope

This policy applies to goods you buy from JACO ASSET HOLDINGS LIMITED TAIWAN BRANCH (HONG KONG) (JACO) at www.jaco.com.tw. JACO is the seller, receives after-sales requests directly and remains responsible for its statutory obligations. The product page, quotation, order confirmation, warranty document or packaging states any manufacturer, distributor or JACO warranty available.

A “warranty” is a commercial promise for a stated period and scope. Civil Code defect remedies, product-safety rights under the Consumer Protection Act and other mandatory rights arise by law. They coexist: a commercial warranty does not replace or reduce a right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

2. Statutory defect and product-safety rights

At delivery, goods must conform to the agreed quality, function, specification and model and to reasonably expected safety. A defect existing on delivery may support repair, replacement, price reduction, rescission or damages according to the transaction, Civil Code, Consumer Protection Act and other applicable law.

If a product may endanger life, body, health or property, stop using it immediately, safely disconnect power or energy where possible, and contact us. No warranty exclusion removes product-safety or damages liability that cannot lawfully be excluded in advance.

3. Manufacturer, distributor or JACO warranty

  • The commercial warranty provider may be the manufacturer, Taiwan distributor, JACO or an authorised service centre, as stated on the product page, warranty document or order confirmation. This does not affect JACO’s statutory responsibilities as seller.
  • Coverage, duration, start date, on-site or carry-in service, parts and labour vary by brand, model, use and individual plan.
  • Where a manufacturer, distributor or authorised service centre carries out inspection and repair, JACO receives the request, verifies the purchase, arranges service and follows up, while remaining responsible for the remedies we must provide by law.
  • A valid item-specific warranty more favourable than this policy will be honoured according to its terms.

4. Written warranty information and proof of purchase

When JACO gives a consumer a quality guarantee or commercial warranty, we proactively provide written guarantee information as required by law, including the goods and quantity (and serial or batch number where applicable), coverage, period and start, manufacturer name and address, distributor name and address, and transaction date. Electronic orders, invoices, registrations or other savable electronic documents may form part of that record.

Keep the order number, invoice or other proof of purchase and serial number. If JACO’s order record can verify the purchase, we will not reject a request solely because a paper receipt or original packaging is missing, although the warranty provider may still require reasonable information to identify the item and eligibility.

5. After-sales and warranty process

  • Email enquiry@jaco.com.tw with the order number, product and model, serial number if available, when and how the issue occurred, and useful photos or video.
  • Stop any operation that may worsen damage or create danger and preserve the item as directed. Do not dismantle it or ship it to the registered office before receiving instructions.
  • JACO checks the purchase record, warranty coverage and applicable terms, then arranges the available carry-in, on-site inspection, parts or other process.
  • After receipt, the service provider assesses the item within a reasonable time and explains the result, estimate, charges if any and available remedies. Out-of-warranty work requiring payment proceeds only after approval.

6. Repair, replacement, refund and timing

The remedy depends on the defect, repairability, parts supply, item warranty and applicable law and may include guidance, free or paid repair, parts replacement, item replacement, price reduction or refund. This policy does not restrict a choice the law gives you.

Timing depends on parts, manufacturer assessment, logistics and complexity. We provide available estimates and notify material changes. If a required or agreed remedy cannot be completed within a reasonable time, another appropriate solution will be offered under the law and transaction circumstances.

7. Common commercial-warranty exclusions

Where clearly stated in the item warranty and legally permitted, a commercial warranty may exclude the following. Applicability requires reasonable assessment; broad wording does not exclude an original defect or statutory product-safety liability.

  • Normal wear or consumables such as blades, carbon brushes, filters or batteries at the end of reasonable service life, unless defective on delivery.
  • Damage caused by installation, operation, maintenance or storage contrary to manufacturer instructions, or by incompatible voltage, consumables, parts or accessories.
  • Damage caused by accident, drop, liquid, fire, natural disaster, abnormal environment, external power or another cause outside the product.
  • Unauthorised disassembly, modification or repair to the extent reasonably connected with the fault.
  • Removal or alteration of a serial number that makes the item or eligibility impossible to verify, unless other reliable records establish it.

8. Business use and specialised equipment

Some brands set different periods for domestic, commercial, rental, high-load or continuous use. For factory, project, contract-cleaning or other professional use, confirm duty cycle, environment, consumables, installation requirements and commercial warranty before purchase.

Goods requiring professional installation, inspection, protective equipment or scheduled maintenance must be handled by qualified personnel under law and manufacturer instructions. A safety breach may affect a commercial warranty but does not automatically exclude an unrelated original defect.

9. Relationship with the return policy

Distance-sale rescission, defect remedies and commercial warranties are separate. See the Return & Refund Policy for no-reason rescission, incorrect shipment or delivery damage. Choosing warranty assessment does not waive another right available under law.

10. Contact and disputes

Email enquiry@jaco.com.tw for after-sales or warranty support. Do not send passwords, full card details or unrelated sensitive personal data. JACO receives and is directly responsible for handling after-sales disputes. We will properly handle consumer complaints within 15 days of receipt; consumers retain the right to complain or seek mediation under law.
